Influences

By now I guess, everyone single soul in this world would know that Steve Irwin has died after getting his heart pierced by some unsuspecting flat creature called a stingray, which with sambal sauce is simply wonderful to have at the dinner table. But thats not the point.

The point is, have you any idea how huge this guy's influence is and how fast news of his death spreads? Almost everyone was talking about it and I do mean everyone. I was walking home the other night and there was this group of Malay aunties sitting outside their 1st floor flat. When I was walking pass them, I heard one saying something like "yeah! kena pierced in the heart. very suay. poor thing. and i thought he would die being eaten by a croc." In my heart I went, "ahh steve irwin...huh? them talking about him? they should be talking about which shop sells cheaper tauges (beansprouts) in the market man!"

And what's with tortoise emoticons in MSN nicks? That particular night I had 6 people having displaying that icon, and its seriously only for that night. -__-" I guess tortoise is the closest resemblence you can get to a croc? In terms of the icons available lah that is.

9/11's approaching again. It's been 5 years since that fateful day. 5 years is quite a long time but the images of the twin towers crashing down to earth still remains fresh in everyone's minds. Terrorists suck. They make good people look bad. And bad people get sympathised on. Then again, who says the world is fair eh? To add on to that, terrorists get a few years jail term for masterminding an attack which could kill thousands, causing collateral damages and hurting nation's morale while drug traffickers get death penalty for smuggling drugs. Justice indeed.
