For 20 over years, I've been living in this place we call Singapore. My family, friends, everything is right here in this small country. No doubt cost of living is high, but we are all living so comfortably and most of the time we are happy (lest the money-no-enough part). The thought of living abroad in another land is an interesting prospect to me but at times, when I take a reality-check, negative thoughts came to mind like, "Can I take it living overseas alone?" or "Can I adapt to their way of life?".
At the end of the day, I just can't leave my comfort zone and move out of it to discover other things. I guess some of us are like that. We are just so comfortable with what we have that when we are asked to give it up for something else, we just find it hard cos we are way too attached to it or just cant bear leaving the comfort zone where we know is safe and hitchless.
In relationships, things are no different. Say after 2-3 years of being together, suddenly one party initiated out of the whole relationship, naturally we would feel lost out of the sudden because all this while, we have been living in this comfort zone knowing that there is someone to fall back on at the end of the day giving and showing support in everything that we do. It has become such a habit that it's so routine. So when a break-up happens, we tend to find it hard to move on due to the fact that we are still clinging on to that comfort zone of ours, refusing to let go. Give it some time, slowly, with lots of determination, I'm sure you'll be able to leave that comfort zone of yours and move on to greater things life has in store for you. ;-)
Same goes for many other things in life. Not doing a certain something doesn't means its taboo to you. Try opening up (and I'm not talking about smoking or drinking) and leave that comfort zone. You'll be surprised at what you might have been missing out if you'd stuck to the same principles every single day. Do something different once in a while. It wont hurt. Life is lived once, so I say, "Why not?". =)
Oh Merry Xmas and I've been stupid. How could I have missed reading that?! -_-
