I was sitting around the other day and was thinking of what I've done for my life. I've concluded that from the time I turned 5, I did nothing but just study and attending schools, one after another. So I came up with a timeline to highlight the important transitions during that period or phase in my life haa.
Kindergarten (Aged 5-6)
- 1st time in school
- play all the time
- ABC books
- colouring became a forte
- toys rule the world
- want to go school to play with friends
- nice & caring teachers
Primary 1-3 (7-9)
- cry on 1st day of school
- not much playing strictly studying
- PE was the best lesson
- buying of school texts referring to booklist for the 1st ever time
- receiving hands-down text from peers and parents going "Same edition anot??"
Primary 4-6 (10-12)
- serious studying (had enough of grammar and ABCs)
- excited about using the pen for the 1st time in entire life
- streaming exams
- PSLE
- horrible teachers
- horrible students
- added pressure
- playing soccer using pingpong balls on the field
- fights over stupid things like "Why you take my eraser?!"
- diary and profile writings (fav food, drinks, etc.)
- crushes
Secondary 1-2 (13-14)
- heavy school bags
- thick textbooks
- stupid art lessons
- ECA recruitment
- puppy love
- afternoon sessions
- pager is so cool
Secondary 3-4 (15-16)
- choice of subject of "interest"
- long pants
- O'levels
- make or break time
- cutting of textbooks
- playing truant
- being seniors in ECA/school
- teachers always drilling into brain "..it's your future, so you dont want to study and fail, that's your problem..I'll still earn my salary.."
- mIRC revolution
- handphone phenomenon
Polytechnic Year 1-3 (17-20)
- no more uniforms!
- bring handphones to school
- handphones means connectivity and life depended on it
- choice of course taken really meant the future path taken
- PROJECTS!!
- late nights in schools
- longer school holidays
- presentations and formal wear
- higher school fees
- bigger allowances
- lectures
- no one cares if you flunk
- became legal at 18 and club non-stop
- participation marks meant the world
- ICQ
- then MSN rocked the world
- zip disks
- more late nights
After 20, life I suppose will begin to go on downhill haa. 2 years in the army toughen up the mind but other than that, there's nothing worth mentioning. And this year on, I guess I just can't help feeling 3LUE. =) so that's the timeline. Life goes on. There's still one life. My Life.
