$$$

Some people say that money is not everything and that money is the root of all evil. But money does lessen the misery of this world and tonnes of hardships. So we go out in search of dough, backstabbing others and shoving them along the way just to climb up that ladder and immerse ourselves inside this race.

But what happens when the race becomes a life and death situation? What happens when in pursuit of so much happiness, we lose the battle against our own body? What happens when because of money, our whole life turned upside down? Is it all worth it?

I read about this woman who died after working 8 hours straight in front of her laptop. Apparently her health was already deteoriating following up to her death. She was stressed up and it was taking a toll on her own health. She was replying 100 emails a day and attending to tonnes of complains whenever she had to attend concalls. What she is doing is mainly fire-fighting on behalf of the company. The problem was she could not take it and quitting was not an option cause she was under a 3month contract. Thus breaking the contract would mean compensation paid to the company.

After reading that, I'm even more determined to break out of the race. I need to get out of this loop. Unless if it's something of your interest, then it's really not worth the energy to run the neverending race. True, we envy others who earn 5 figure sum but I guess the amount of work that he needs to put in to get that 5 figures is crazy. Is life really all about chasing that financial glory? Why not we chase financial freedom instead?

Don't be a slave to money. Let money work for you and be at your mercy instead. Don't die earning money for you can't bring it with you 7 feet down but die being happy despite being financially challenged.
