Conservative

I do have a few things that I want to blog about which are totally unrelated, but I think I go with this first.

You know how they say that we, as a nation, are becoming more of a modern society and we are more open in our views and all that crap. I'd say we are just that, crap. No discredit though, I'm not saying that we haven't moved forward. I'm just saying we are still moving 2 steps forward and 1 step back.

Why do I say this? Well, as a nation, we are by far one of the better ones or I dare say the best one in the region but yes we are still a very conservative lot of people especially when it comes to media and public displays. There is definitely a good and bad side to this but sometimes I really do feel we should be flexible in the way we think. The most frequent - I won't say common - thing that happens is when a radio DJ gets the sack for something he/she said on air.

Over the years, I've seen (and heard) about a number of DJs getting the boot by their respective stations because of what they said on air. It's either the management are dumb OR the rules are too stringent. Why can't people just loosen up and be flexible sometimes with regards to popularity ratings of the show which in turn increase ratings for the station itself?

As it stands, we don't have many interesting or fun DJs here. Those that are out there are seriously the old timers. If they defamed someone, then by all means remove them and charge them if you may. But if it's just a minor slip or trip or crossing the line, then be more flexible. Sometimes it's these slips and line crossing which makes a radio show more desirable and interesting to tune in to.

Now, there really is no interesting DJs in there that is worth listening to. Just give me my music and shut the trap.
