Is work bogging you down? Do you have to drag yourself to work every single day? Are you just tired of your job, thinking it’s time for change? "Work for the money." Is that the only true meaning of work?
I’ve always held on to this principle and belief, that work is all about passion. Be it work or studies wise, I think that no matter how boring a job or course that you want to study may be, as long as you are happy and are interested in it, then half the battle is already won. Not many people second my thoughts about this though and many choose to be realistic about things.
A low-paying job for instance is the subject of many such cases. People would go, "Pay so little? Can survive meh?" But in my eyes, as long as you like what you do, as long as you know yourself and can make ends meet, then go for it, as it is what you really want to do. Studies on the other hand is also in a similar league. Study for what you are really interested in studying because only then would you really be concentrating and making your money’s worth. At the end of the day, satisfaction goes to you and not to anyone else.
So my point is, it’s good being the devil’s advocate to someone’s decision BUT at the end of it all, if that’s where his passion lies, then support him all the way even if it’s destined to be a failure. Humans work in funny ways and are always persistent to the things that they want to do. Perhaps this is God’s way of teaching us, from failures and through mistakes, to make us learn.
A quote, which I think is very apt on all this, is "The day when you realise that work is not work, then you’ve found life." So are you doing what you really want to do? Or are your passions just but a dream? =)
