Happy Hour

Went to celebrate my boss' birthday at some German restaurant down at Vivo just now. Truth be told, sometimes I just feel obliged to attend these kinda department functions but each of these gatherings never fails to amaze me. It weird how some people can talk about other things besides work, and some can talk about nothing except work. Today, I somehow decided to go round the table and get into mini conversations with different groups and I thought that saved my otherwise would have been a boring dinner.

Drinks and food were rolling one after another. True enough after sometime, the guys got a lil high on alcohol and started blabbering their mouths off. I used to think that only my good ol' friends were capable of that but oh I'm so so wrong. Grown man has it worst. They can shoot their mouths and shout all they want without feeling a tinge of anything at all really. It got a tad too rowdy at times but it was all in the name of good fun I guess. The jokes and the moments were priceless.

After a while, I realised that I was the only Singaporean at the table of 10. Interesting mix of American, Canadian, German, Turkish and Indians. Diversity prevails. For once, it felt a bit off but differences aside, we all had a good laugh. I'd thought they were gonna throw us out of the place or something but I guessed they bared with us for quite a bit. Haa. It was all good in the end.

Time to hit the sack. Anyone need a full-time job? Flag me!
