Pet Peeve!

One of my biggest pet peeve at the moment have got to be getting "Private" number calls. For the simple reason that - 1) I don't know who is calling and I don't know if I want to talk to you, and 2) thanks to horrible telemarketers, it has made answering phone calls from unknown numbers simply a waste of time.

I started avoiding calls about 3-4 years back when I was perpetually on phone stand-by everyday 24-7 due to national duties. In order not to be disturbed during weekends I just ignored ALL other calls coming in unless if you're in my phone book. Even then it would depend on how important you are to me for me to really pick that call up. It got so bad at one point in time that I would just switch off my phone.

After my nightmare ended, I thought so did these annoying calls. Unfortunately recently they came back with a vengeance in the form of telemarketers! And worst if they are calling from a "Private" number! Now it's hard to differentiate which are important calls to take and which I can ignore. When "Private" calls come in however, it's really a 50-50 chance. In that split second a lot of things go through my mind to influence my answering the call or not and even I was impressed at myself in managing to analyse them in that few seconds.

So my friends and to whoever is reading this, if you do try to get in touch with me with an unknown number, please do SMS me first. Really urgent?? No problems, just call and keep calling till my phone explodes ok? Most probably I would answer after 3-4 missed calls! Good day and good night! :-)
