Sometime back, my friends had a debate on looks and personality, which matters most?
The guys were arguing that who in the world never consider looks before personality and Val was going, “NO! It’s different!” They were using me as a case study the whole time as I sit quietly looking at them fights it out.
To be fair to both and giving both parties the benefit of the doubt, I’d say that we ALL sub-consciously go for looks before personality. The person may not be the most eligible one around, in fact he/she could be an average Joe or a plain Jane. But the fact that he/she is not ugly does mean something. That we sub-consciously consider their looks without noticing it.
It’s beyond that that personality takes itself on cruise control. No matter how good looking you might be, if your attitude and personality stinks, then you wont even be considered the part.
“..If you consider first impressions, then looks trumps everything else…”
That particular statement speaks volumes that it kind of put the whole matter to rest, don’t you think so?
