Determination

Determination goes a long way. And the true display of this is potrayed by none other than Mas Selamat himself. The only thought he had was to escape from Singapore by hook or by crook, even if it means dying, and that was what he did. Swimming across the open sea is no mean feat and I'm pretty sure it requires a lot of strength and determination to make him do what he did.

I'd say if there is one lesson that we can take from this man, it would have been the power of determination. How many times have we started out doing something and give up midway through cos we think it's not gonna work out? How many times have we been scared to try something out cos we thought to ourselves that it was just one of those things? Well this guy has proven that if you want something so bad, most probably you will get it - albeit still getting caught in the end.

But yeah, once we set our sights on something, go for it and work towards it. No one's gonna help you get there except yourself. It's all up there in the mind. Overcoming that mental barrier is tough but once we manage to overcome that, the rest is a breeze. Mind does wonders, and only you have control over it.

People say a lot of people around the world suffer from seriousness. I think I might be one of them. Dammit! Why so seeeerrrrriiioooussss.....??
